After serving 7 years in the Royal Australian Navy Communications Department, Rob moved into hospitability and hotel management before establishing a career in Banking in New South Wales, Australia. It was during his Naval Career that Rob developed his communication, leadership and discipline character traits that exist today and are now integral to his businesses. Robs’ Financial career saw rapid promotion to Branch Leader in the Chinatown, Sydney branch where he lead a team of 15 staff members. Robs’ aptitude for meeting targets and servicing clients by implementing financial controls and discipline within businesses was established during this period.

Moving to Europe in 2000, Rob worked through installation projects at the operational level delivering offshore cable projects. Working internationally on subsea projects was a defining point of Robs development allowing him to set up his first offshore business. In 2003 Rob left his previous company to set up Offshore Marine Management Ltd. which he continues to own as the sole shareholder and current Managing Director. Offshore Marine Management began life predominantly as a support business but has evolved into a significant player providing subsea cables solutions and consultancy services to the offshore renewable energy (wind farm), submarine telecoms, and oil and gas sectors. This business is a credible, multi-service business to the offshore cabling industry that has an international client base with international offshore projects. It serves the full offshore project life cycle and delivered £41 Million Turnover in 2011. It still enjoys a good market position and reputation. Rob has developed this business accruement and skills in people management in which his employee enjoy a working environment that has a basis of success. Rob is a strong communicator and skilled in motivating large company and project teams, with a proven track record of strong leadership, high performance, and continuous improvement.

Rob has vast experience in cable installation projects, previously working for a global company in the subsea optical fibre and renewable energy offshore cable markets. With Rob’s knowledge of the industry he developed FCT to meet the expectation of price reduction in the cable transport and storage markets. Floating Cable Tanks Ltd (FCT) was born from a smart idea to improve the offshore industry’s conduit storage and transportation solutions. The business was established in 2012 based at Queen Square, Bristol and holds the Patent for the conduit storage and deployment system and associated methods for Floating Cable Tanks.

Rob has been instrumental in shaping the industry as it grows and has worked at a strategic level with both RenewableUK and EWEA Offshore Delivery Groups. His approach to build a company that integrates into the industry and assists the sector in building a stronger industry that is based on offshore experience.

His current business interests operate in the UK, Europe, Middle East and South American markets and provide an excellent network from which to expand FCT’s interests.
